About Dr. Kurlansik

Dr. Kurlansik is a psychologist who specializes in cognitive behavior therapy. He offers supportive, evidence-based treatment for his patients. In order to keep his patients safe during the corona virus crisis, he is  currently using teletherapy as his sole treatment modality until the crisis ends.  Dr. Kurlansik is a skilled diagnostician with experience in treating a wide range of problems including anxiety (stress, panic, worrying, health anxiety, etc.), depression,  and relationship issues. He is also skilled in working with individuals diagnosed with ADHD, as well as patients who wish to  become more assertive.  He is an educator who has trained both physicians and psychologists in the treatment of mental health issues, as well as in effective interview skills (including "bedside manner"). He believes that warmth, empathy, mutual respect and a bit of humor are essential to the therapy/counseling process. He truly enjoys his patients and his work.  He is a former faculty psychologist at Virtua Family Medicine Residency, where he trained family medicine physicians for twenty years.   He has also served as  Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychology at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. His approach to therapy with his patients is collaborative, and is based on what current research has proven to be most effective for overcoming problems rapidly.  He considers himself to be both ethical and moral, and endeavors to carry those values into his therapy.
